How
Does a CSA Farm Work?
A
CSA farm attempts to provide a stronger link between the consumer
and farmer. At the beginning of the season, members purchase a share
of the crop. Then throughout the season you receive your share of
the harvest. You and your family can be more involved in the farming
process, enjoy fresh picked vegetables throughout the season and help
us preserve open land in the area.
CSA members are also asked to volunteer at the farm, assisting with
harvesting, weeding, etc, though we know that age, health, etc. may
make that difficult for some. Several 'farm work days' will be scheduled
in June/July where you can meet other members and help with the early
season chores. Other members may enjoy helping with the weekly harvest
on Monday or Friday mornings. Bring the kids, a picnic and enjoy a
day outdoors!
